You can help bring healing and hope
The holiday season is a time for joy, reflection and giving back – a time to bring light into the lives of those who need it most. At Advocate Children’s Hospital, our Child Life Program embodies this spirit every day, as our team works tirelessly to comfort and uplift young patients and their families. This year, a remarkable gift from Dina Giobbia-Stukel has helped expand that mission by opening a new creative arts therapy space at our Oak Lawn campus. The donation was made in honor of Dina’s mother, Grace Giobbia, who was known for her creativity, kindness and unwavering care for others.

Make a difference this holiday season
The new art therapy space is just one part of our broader Child Life Program, which helps children cope with the challenges of hospitalization through play, creativity and education. The program ensures children can still experience joy and hope, even during difficult times, through comforting toys and games, festive holiday activities and therapeutic sessions with trained specialists.
This holiday season, you can make a difference by supporting our Child Life Program:
- $25 can provide a toy or art kit to brighten a child’s day.
- $50 can sponsor a one-on-one session with a child life specialist, offering comfort and coping tools.
- $100 can fund supplies for creative and educational group activities.
- $250 can support holiday celebrations, such as a visit from Santa or festive craft sessions, creating cherished memories for patients and families.
Your generosity allows us to bring hope to every child we serve.

Bring joy with a toy donation
A simple gift of a toy can bring comfort, joy and a sense of normalcy to young patients facing challenging circumstances. From engaging games to creative art supplies, these toys become a source of smiles and hope during their hospital stay.
To ensure the safety and well-being of our patients and families, as well as make it easier for our generous donors, we will be accepting donations on designated drop-off dates at both of our hospital campuses. We kindly ask that donations be made only during these times, as we are unable to accept deliveries outside of these dates:
Saturday, Dec. 14, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 18, 3-7 p.m.
